Like "Barbie" before it, "Unfrosted" is an expensive commercial, this time for Kellogg's. It's not the obnoxiously preachy wank that "Barbie" was, which leaves some breathing room for humor. Sadly, nor is it great humor by the standards of some of the talent involved. I find it hard not to enjoy having Jerry Seinfeld and Jim Gaffigan on my screen at the same time, but the script grows stale as it progresses.

Much like sugarless cereal this film seemed rather bland. The storyline wasn't very strong, it felt rather drawn out.

There's a lot of big names on the screen, but they didn't seem to budget for any writting. There is a story, but is not at all funny. I'm a Seinfield fan so I did watch it till the end, but it was pretty clear in the first 10 minutes it wasn't worth anyone's time.

Une ambiance léchée au service de petits gags bien interprétés, j'ai vraiment aimé Amy Schumer et Max Greenfield. Cependant, je ne pense pas que le film aurait tenu son pari sur une plus longue durée.

It could've been fun, like, in 2006? But hey, I thought this would be way worse. Always loved Seinfeld, not so much Jerry, but he at least assembles massive team of talents here and that's why few good bits feel better than his lackluster Cold War/Space Race take in this recent (and mostly self-congratulatory) wave of films about brands/business stories. Mad Men skit is brilliant. And some stuff just nails it: not-so-subtle nazi dude, mascot workers making their January 6th. Guess that's it.

Funny original story that was probably completely made up. I do love some pop tarts

Bad, but in the modern realm of Hollywood comedy, it's slightly better than standard fare, and at least embraces pure silliness to an extended level. In the last 15 years American feature film writers have just totally forgotten how to do comedy. This particular film is a very odd pet-project of an over-indulged Seinfeld, but obviously Netflix will fund anything. He's been obsessed with pop tarts for some time. Almost, but not quite, as odd as his Bee film interpecies romcom.

The historical accuracy is a little sus, but everyone seemed to have fun with their roles. The January 6th references felt weird.

I'm naturally inclined to hate this based on the background of it but brushing this aside... this is painfully bad comedy where its conceit is pretending to be truthful and biting but has no real commentary on anything and virtually every joke in this film is just references to various products with no punchline beyond that. Seinfeld likes to paint himself as some cutting edge comedian but it's fairly apparent others were more vital to his success than his own comedic leanings.

A cameo laden farce. It isn't bad, the comedic timing is just not there far too often, and the aim is convoluted.

With all the comedians in the cast I knew this would just another pointless entertaining, funny movie. That was exactly what it was. A classic example of "bring the big names because we don't have a script". I gave it a fifty score because it's watchable, but it's barely watchable.

I'm shocked at the level of pure vitriol this has brought out in people, and as a comedy nerd it makes me sad that one of the few big budget comedies we've gotten lately is getting so unfairly dumped on. Unfrosted is a stupid, goofy, absurd gag fest. Yeah, I feel like aspects of this could have been developed more and not all the jokes land, but I still liked it. Between the precocious dumpster diving kids, a funeral with full cereal honors, and Bobby Moynihan as Chef Boyardee...it's just fun.

Who's the target audience for this? Why was this made? How was this fulfilling for anyone involved?

It draws itself out a little too long. If it were shorter, the jokes wouldn't have overstayed their welcome. At the beginning I laughed a few times, but it couldn't keep it up. I do appreciate how ridiculously silly this is and Pop Tarts ARE undeniably awesome, but at the same time, the silliness did feel a little try-hard at times. There are a ton of cameos and honestly, some work. People will be harsher on this than it deserves but I'm not going to defend it as a great movie.
