I saw this on Mother's Day with my family. The hell.

I'm sorry, why don't we like this movie?

Sometimes casting can ruin an otherwise fine movie. This is a movie starring Richard Gere about adultery and somehow Richard Gere is not the guilty party. That's my cutesy comment. Here is the truth, and I mean honest to God truth truth: I watched Bad Taste and Dead Alive the night before I saw this, and this movie has a scene that puts anything Peter Jackson ever did to shame. Diane Lane eating her son's chewed up food at the beginning almost made me gag.

This is pretty much a 'by numbers' film, in that its fairly predictable and nothing very memorable. It's an easy enough watch, with some good performances but its nothing new. It doesn't feature especially explicit content (thankfully - I'm not so keen on very graphic sexual footage (believe it or not)), not really. The plot is fairly basic, quite cheesy at times even but I did like the young boy who played the married couples son. A decidedly ok but not more type of a film.

Believable and suspenseful.

A wife (Diane Lane) has an intense fling with a charismatic younger man, but when the husband finds out about it, events spiral out of control and lead to murder. She is incredible and convincing. Both heartbroken and consumed with shame they struggle to continue together, wiser but fearful of the painful consequences which may befall them. They rebuild their shattered lives and come to terms with the tragedy. Passionate, sad and prophetic.

This movie flows really well. I know I should have seen it coming when Richard Gere goes to see the boyfriend, but I didn't I'm sorry to say.

I loved this movie it was the perfect combo of chick flick and suspense.

a movie about betrayal , nature of women , that is well shown . Daine Lane is good and Richard Gere is better .

The tension is real, yet I have no compassion for these characters. Some will be caught up in this story, but I found it to be one step above soap opera, only elevated by good performances from the leads.

i loved that the scenes were optimized until they were superlative to the eyes. I didn't love Richard Gere as the lump O' husband to be cheated upon, because I know how his body really looks. Olivier Martinez is smirmy-looking, too. The ending ranks up there as one of the biggest disappointments I've ever experienced.

Good performance from Diane Lane, and Olivier Martinez is HOTHOTHOT. Aside from that, this movie is pretty silly.
