Under Suspicion

Liam Neeson moves from affair to affair and is in constant threat of either being blackmailed or blackmailing somebody else. It's a clever enough script but what works best to its advantage is my current assumptions about Liam Neeson characters. Probably better now than it would've been back then.

This film starts off well but then there are too many scenes that drag on. The actors are good but they can't fix the many limitations of the script. Overall this movie is disappointing.

In many scenes, especially in those, that include the lead actress, the movie tries far too hard to be noirish. However, the writer has definitely done a good job misleading a viewer, even though it turns out to be a fraud in the end. Might have been good if would be shot in another century, by another director, and from the another character's point of view. Wait, what have I liked about it?

Just wasn't good enough to hold me. I got about 3/4 of the way through and quit. Weak film, characters didn't draw me in, plot seemed reasonable, characters could have been real... But...
