Under Heavy Fire

I was looking for some hilariously militaristic action propaganda but got something closer to ferocious anti-war sentimentality. The fact that it's trying so hard coupled with the wildly inconsistent quality makes for weirdly subversive and interesting viewing (although in ways not entirely intentional). I was embarrassingly touched by it. (defense note: I was heavily intoxicated and had just watched a boatload of terrifying USMC recruitment ads so I guess I was kinda vulnerable to this shit).

I don't even remember where I saw this, I think it was on Netflix instant watch and we were looking for something to make fun of (naturally seeing this had Casper Van Dien it was an easy choice) but it actually seemed to be trying so it was depressing.

So awful the acting, the story.
