Ex Machina on sleeping tablets....

I knew little of this movie going into it, but I was really impressed. Great acting by the small cast, beautiful in its small gestures.

There is some good acting from Rogers and Griffiths, and it's a nice small-scale effort, but I think it falls short of its ambitions.

Slow-paced and generally uninteresting, featuring a charisma-less performance by Mark Webber.

For a low budget robotic movie, the plot, dialog & overall quality was surprisingly satisfying. The acting performances were engaging. I really liked the adorable Lucy Griffiths in this. David Clayton Rogers was charismatic & convincing as a robotic person. Mark Webber did a fine job as the genius scientist. Quality production & futuristic music, but there were not enough convincing props. The ending was a clever twisty surprise. I was entertained & enjoyed it.
