One of Mani Rathnam's earliest ventures, 'Unaroo' which translates to 'Wake Up', was meant to be a wake up call for the youth of Kerala to stop petty politics, unwanted strikes & to do hard work. Considering the state of Kerala is still the same, 25 years later, I wonder how effective that wake up call turned out to be. While one movie cannot change the destiny of a state, I guess every little bit helps. The message of the movie is as relevant now, as it was back in 1984.
