Spain, 1946: Julia undergoes a deep depression after José Miguel, her boyfriend and lover, are imprisoned. Stephane K a well-known young painter, and in clear opposition to the Franco regime. Julia is the only daughter of a wealthy banker and is a highly educated and cultured young lady educated in England and Switzerland. She is on the way to the family's country house in a small village in the Asturias region, where she spent childhood summers happy.
