In true French style Un revenant [A Lover's Return] (1946) talks itself out of the thrill. Absolutely a good movie overall, as you'd expect with Christian-Jaque & Louis Jouvet working together. But this was one had the chance to be so much more than the end result. A little too sophisticated for its own good. Still the production was pure elegance!
