Un Homme Ideal

Pierre Niney gives a pretty good performance, there are a lot of suspenseful scenes and the photography has some marvelous moments. Still, the plot and themes are highly derivative, the film never becomes remotely believable (to a big extent due to directorial deficiency, as a sure hand could at least partly save such a meagre script), most characters are caricatures and the protagonist has zero likability. "Un Homme Ideal" is watchable and at times pleasing but often blatantly careless as well.
