Ultimate Avengers

The style of animation, the voice acting, the action, and the presentation of the heroes were all great attributes of the film. However, it was greatly lacking in the story department. The plot plays like the pilot to a television series. There is no major villain, just a race of evil aliens. It seems like the writers knew they needed a real fight to end the film, so they made the Hulk go berserk instead of having a final battle with an actual enemy. Meh!

Even going in with low expectations this convinced me not to bother with any more Marvel animated. Im pretty sure the story was written by a kid playing with his action figures...evil aliens! Boom boom bang! Even by my excessively forgiving action junkie standards this plot is stupid. Ok so i planned on that. But the voiceacting is all painfully stale and the animation is cheap, static, and ugly. Hulk looks like beefcake Frankenstein.

I'm a big fan of all these characters, but this movie just plain hurts me to watch. It's too sexed-up and violent for children, and too mind-numbingly stupid for adults. The plot is thinner than Kate Moss and all that crap about aliens is just hilarious. The coup de grace is the top-notch hand-drawn animation, which made me nostalgic for the X-Men and Spider-Man animated series of the mid-90s. This...is not anywhere as good as those were.

Superhero shows (note: shows, not movies) generally have better animation than this, but it's a halfway decent adaptation of the comics.

The voice acting, animation and the extended fight sequence at the end are the highlights of this animated adaption of the first few issues of the Ultimate Avengers comic series.

I have watched this movie a few times now. Each time it doesn't get any better and it makes me wonder why Marvel can't get it's animated movies to be any good. The story like the "big" Avengers movie seemed to be too fractured and frayed to be able to follow with any interest. The Avengers movies seem like they are too concerned with showing all the action that is going on all around the Avengers to worry about character building; this movie has the same problems.

Ultimate Avengers is a well-made, and even exciting animated action film that should please fans of the increasingly popular cartoons based on comic book superheroes.

Boring, blank color grades and sturdy animations. Lack of core and interest.

"Ultimate Avengers: The Movie" unfolds as a typical comic book origin story adaption. I watched it through to the end, but it's the kind of movie I'll likely forget in a few days.
