This was so over-the-top and old-school cartoon-like that I found this surprisingly entertaining. It seems like it was going for a Mortal Kombat or even Hercules/Xena/Buffy vibe all of which were extremely popular in the late 90s and early 2000s. The action scenes were a little sloppy but the fights were decent, the camerawork was pretty inconsistent during these scenes. When you get down to it, this movie was stupid fun.
