"Twinkletoes" Minasi wants to be a great dancer like her deceased mother. Twink meets Chuck Lightfoot, a noted prizefighter, who falls in love with her at first sight. She tries to avoid falling in love with Chuck, whose wife, Cissie, is a drunken harridan and more than a little bit spiteful.

Twinkletoes (1926) starts the way I want my Colleen Moore. Physical and funny. Then it shifts to heavy melodrama and while she's not lost in that aspect, this was too heavy for her personality. She shines in the lighter element, so why make Twinkletoes so tragic. While Moore wasn't totally at home in the tragic surroundings, her supporting actors was, and along with some quality direction where several scenes that stand out. this might still me among the best available Colleen Moore silents.
