Ultimately, it isn't a very good party, both figuratively and literally.

In general, the acting was fairly decent, it was the strange structure and direction that I didn't like. The story was also a little underwhelming. This movie is the epitome of tell and not show.

It wasn't as bad as critics say (certainly not "worst Sundance movie ever") but there wasn't much going on besides watching rich white people problems without any satisfaction. Like a lukewarm Gossip Girl with Kiefer Sutherland narrating in a monotone voice. Decent ending. Chace Crawford was too distractingly beautiful to play a convincing tough drug dealer. Fav scene: Emily Meade trying to seduce 50 Cent but just looking really bad in the process...hard to believe it was worth $1k of drugs.

Behind some admonitory, dull reasonings, the movie speaks of many biting, provoking truths.

Surprisingly involving and sufficient in surprise and imagination, I found myself baffled by all the lashing it got from nearly every critic under the sun. I suppose it's hard to get into a party film when it's serious and when it's about the spoiled young rich elite of Manhattan, and very hard to get into post-Guy Ritchie narration-driven ensemble films, but if you can give it a chance to go the first round of exposition, I assure you it'll suck you in.

It's absolutely nothing special. Not terribly bad, either, I'd like to point out, but it's little different from similar films, and it doesn't necessarily deserve a watch.

This film almost has good points and could have made it as good film, perhaps if the acting was a little more gritty and parts of the plot were tidied up it would have been. In a world full of materialistic teens, the only one with a heart seems to be Drug Dealer "White Mike".
In the tough world of Drug dealing, gangs etc, "White Mike" seems to flow through with no trouble from more likely dealers, meanwhile we hear lots of back stories from all the characters, wh

I've always had a soft spot for Schumacher but in this case the material is minuscule for a director who, for all the 'bad' films, is talented and capable of great work. Immediately undermining itself with the continuous narration by Sunderland, the film spends all its time trying to make itself out as a serious view of life, but has too many plot strands and little in interesting ideas. Strangely there are a lot of these films in American cinema and this is another to forget.

This piece of garbage was a complete waste of time.Kiefer Sutherland's narration kept me from ever engaging in this film. The plot revolves around some of the most boring and stupid characters I've had the displeasure of seeing and just grinds away. The ending makes no sense with the rest of the film and is just awful.

The more I think about this Twelve the less I like it. Chase Crawford was good. No other characters had any real depth, movie was heavily narrated which told of poor dialogue for the actual actors. Was pretty well directed with some nice shots of New York.

Not as bad as I had heard. It had kind of a Rules of Attraction vibe in that it tells the story of young, rich, drug-abusing, vapid people from multiple points of view. There are a few stories criss-crossing here, but the resolution didn't really do anything for me. Some okay acting done here, but also some real weak acting.

Went to the film without expectations, but returned home happy. A very good film, that could have been Excellent had a few things been thought through a bit more... Can't put my finger on which ones though, so I'll just stick with the "very good" feeling...

I have a somewhat mixed feeling about this flick. On one hand the story is interesting, it's about far more than drugs really. We see some rich people coping with the wealth and all it's temptations. Sutherland is an exelent narrator and the actors perform superbly. Then on the other hand the film is nicely directed by schumacher, but he doesn't offer enough answers to all the questions he himself poses. We also see some plotholes here and there.

I'm sorry to give so low points for this flick, since it was nicely directed and acted, but it did not have an interesting story at all. Emily Meade stucked in my mind from it though.
