Turkish Star Wars

Fundamentally incompetent on a level few movies reach. Only the occasional WTF moment of hilarity saves it from my bottom score.

A bewildering mashup of chopsocky battles in the desert, guys bouncing through colored smoke on trampolines, and shots of Turkish dudes talking in front of rear projections of Star Wars footage, all set to the first bar of the Indiana Jones theme blaring repeatedly. The climax sees Cüneyt Arkin beating up an entire army of furry hunchbacks, red werewolves, mummies, and robots while wearing magical dishwashing gloves. Bizarre but thoroughly entertaining nonsense.

Probably the worst movie ever made, or at least the joint worst. Everything about it is just abysmal, it boils down to random action scenes with tie fighters from Star Wars buzzing around projected onto a white sheet in the background. They must have known how bad this actually was but decided to release it anyway after spending the entire budget on a bicycle helmet painted orange. At least it provided some good laughs for the last twenty minutes, so you can't help like it in some respect.

Infamous for blatantly stealing from famous movies as well as for just being purely insane. Underneath the "Star Wars" footage and the "Indiana Jones" and "Flash Gordon" theme music there is a nearly incomprehensible story that mixes "Prometheus"(2012) and "The Quran" with kung-fu mascots and WCW's "The Yehti". A level of ridiculously bad only few like Cüneyt Arkin and company can ever achieve. Highly recommended to fans of bad movies.

Technically the most incompetent film I've ever seen. Leaving aside the plagiarized Star Wars footage that is upside down, back to front and repeated ad infinitum - that's just the bookends to a saga of one vaguely Charles Bronson-lookalike Turkish action guy trampolining to his own verbal sound effects. There are ruminations on religion and on how irresistible to the opposite sex everyone is. This is an endlessly stupid movie and I am stupider for watching it, but my IQ went down with laughter.

Stupidity of this movie is unmatched even in B grade movies. But its enclosure to Turkish culture limits the fun for those aware of the references. Works better when not watched, but only exhibited in a party, always capable of creating some laughs from the crowd.

Olum savascisi a.k.a Death warrior is equally good. But somehow not as famous as this one. These movies may not be piece of art and it may be Tier1 for me but actually I enjoyed seeing this movie and death warrior as much as my T9-10 movies. Have company while seeing this movie and you will enjoy it way more.

A catastrophic success !!!

So incredibly, incredibly bad that it makes it's sequel look about as good as Star Wars itself. It certainly makes you wish you were watching the sequel instead.. or that you were dead. At least you're laughing.

Wow, it is not a parody..... Then this is a worst movie I ever seen... 20 is because so bad that you must watch what is next scene in movie and that make you wonder and smile....

An all-out assault on spatial awareness.

Throws you into the insanity right from the start, and you think it's hilarious. At first. The movie shamelessly re-uses footage and music from Star Wars, and probably other movies, and just the music from Indiana Jones. Terrible acting, close ups, sound and re-using scenes over and over again. Funny, right? Yes, but after 30 minutes of constant noise and shitty editing, it gets very tedious and hard to watch. I was exhausted when it ended.

right down to the editing, everything about this "movie" is adventurous. if you want to test just how much random shit your brain can take before it shuts down, here's your chance. good fun, though.

Absolutely hilarious from beginning to end, the climatic end battle (as well as every other action scene) had us in tears. Biggest complaint is that the recycled Star Wars footage gets a bit tedious, even in the opening 10 minute exposition.

Surprising laughable flick. I enjoyed it more than the Holiday Special, that's for sure. It's goofy, violent at times, and random as anything. But it's worth the watch if you're into bad movies and copious amounts of stock footage.

Terrible, and not really Star Wars-related other than the badly cut-in shots of TIE fighters near the start. After that it's a bad Bruce Lee movie with lashings of odd religious philosophy on top. Terrible production values although some of the fight scenes are quite fun. Also the amazing training montage to a disco rendition of the 1980s Battlestar Galactica theme is something that can never be forgotten.

Unbelievably bad but yet a must-see. Mixture of sci-fi, martial arts, philosophy and some random religious materials. Meant to be a sci-fi action movie but the result is an absurd comedy.

On the other hand, this is the most famous Turkish movie and if it was meant to be made for absurdity, it would've been the best ever.

A bizarre masterpiece.

A tour de force of relentless cinematic dementia. The very existence of this astonishing film has renewed my faith in the future of humankind.

I don't know or understand what I just watched but I kind of liked it.

This movie makes no sense and really poorly made. Random footage from Star Wars just distracts from the already clustered narrative. Overall this film is a absolute disaster.

My favorite bad film

TE MOST EPIC ACTION MOVIE EVER (DISREGARD THE MOCKERY OF INDIANA JONES AND STAR WARS)

At its heart, this film a Turkish take on old Chinese kung-fu movies. There is a lot of fighting that's pretty well choreographed and has a few exciting moments. The editing is brutal because it seems to have been done after the sound was added, so it cuts in both audio and video. In conclusion: It's not a bad film but it does start to make less sense and get more boring as it goes on.

It's excruciatingly incompetent on every technical level, especially sound and editing, to the point that it is painful to watch. The first scene is a complete mess, and things don't improve much as the movie flies by. Surprisingly, there were a few ideas that I thought had potential, but they were completely wasted in the maelstrom of absolute shit that is Turkish Star Wars.
