This is a rushed, shallow, superfluous film that is just an extended episode with new toys to buy and the bizarre introduction of a young boy as a power ranger who, when they power up, mysteriously turns into Average Looking Human Male presumably because it meant they would need specific short actors to play him and they couldn't reuse bits of generic fighting and posing footage. The film is quickly made, plot isn't important really, there isn't much fighting and its very low budget. Crappy!

Even as a 10 year old child I could tell I was watching an awful bastardization of something I held dear. They bring back the original Pink and Red Rangers and turn them evil, which my young mind thought was a nice twist, but other than that...fuck. This is just fucking terrible. I wonder what corporate tools thought this was a good idea. "So we've got these kids riding around in robot dinosaurs. That's pretty cool." "Dinosaurs? Fuck dinosaurs. It would be awesome if they just drove cars." WTF??

The Point Break opening tried to divert my attention from the fact that Zordon uses child soldiers, and frankly I don't appreciate that.

The first Power Ranger movie was everything that was great about the Power Rangers back when I was young in the Nineties. The second one unfortunately is everything that's wrong about the franchise and spelled the end of my obsession with the series.

I don't usually call enjoyable movies dumb, but this - this was a lot of dumb fun. From the wonderfully over-the-top performance of the central villain to the baffling string of setpieces to the silliness of Random Child Replaced Your Friend, it's delightful nonsense... up until we get to the racist caricatures of native islanders, which taint the otherwise dumb-fun final act and don't even *do* anything. (The wizard puppet didn't need to be so creepy, but that I can *mostly* overlook.)

Under Quarantine Film Reviews #105: It's like they took everything that made the first one a fun campy flick and sapped all the joy out of it to make an incredibly boring and dull sequel. How can one make a film that is even worse than a typical episode?

The second attempt at a big screen Power Rangers movie is nothing more than a terribly long episode of the TV show. Say what you will about the first film, but at least it understood how to appeal to fans of the show. This movie thinks children tuned into the Power Rangers for the plot. With a script that makes the first movie seem award worthy this movie is ridiculously boring. Unfortunately, the return of the practical effects monster battles of the TV show is preceded by 90 minutes of shit.

Even as a child, I knew this movie was underwhelming. As an adult, I can see that the studio ruined what the cast and director REALLY wanted to go for. I'm mad we'll never get to see Tommy fight a crocodile with a flamethrower like it showed on the box art of the original tapes. Divatox, Kat and Kim are all still hotties tho.

the first power ranger movie was nice and a fun children's movie (boring to me), but this one is just plain bad, even my grand children's (6.5 & 10) would not like it.

The Liarians are hideous, the effects are a laugh, the dialogue's very corny, and the editing is uneven on selected areas. However, it's just how I like the Power Rangers, and I enjoyed the story arc and characters. [Full review]

While not as good as the first film its still a decent flick that fans of the series will appreciate, but very corny.

From twenty-something teenagers with attitude to cringyworthy child with annoyance overload. I'm surprised the franchise lived through this.

This would have been an ok Power Rangers movie, but the little aliens are really annoying, and the introduction of the little kid ranger was just a bad idea.

I was a power rangers fan as a kid. I thought the first movie was awesome as a kid despite how bad it was. And even though I liked pretty much anything as a kid, i know I didn't like this one. I don't really remember it besides the fact that it was hard to get through. This came out around the time I stopped watching the rangers and I wouldn't be surprised if this was the reason I stopped. How sad...

Drains all of the fun out of the Power Rangers concept, trading in robots modeled after dinosaurs and mythical creatures for... cars. A boring plot made worse by shameful production value.
