Tunay na ina (1939), aka The Real Mother, is one of the very few pre-World War II films from the Philippines to survive the war! The focus is around the romance of Rudy Concepcion & Rosario Moreno, with a child from a previous rape casting a shadow over their love. And it's the child actress that steals the heart of this one. Tita Duran was so sweet. The film is surprisingly watchable considering the limited technical aspects and is filled with plenty of songs to stretch out the plot.
