Awesome premise. The idea of shifting the traditional perspective and coming up with hilarious misunderstandings is an inspired one. And the execution (of the scenes, you understand) is quite ingenious. Besides the very funny gags, one more reason this movie works so well is that Tucker & Dale are great characters that you care about but that's just an added bonus because this is mostly about the jokes and the gore. Enjoy.

I feel like they took a French comedy of manners and replaced "assumed homosexuals" with "assumed mass murderers." That reads a little bit like a critique, but I actually mean it endearingly. There just aren't a lot of movies where someone dives face first into a wood chipper that have left me bereft of what I desire to experience through cinema.

More proof that loving parodies are the best parodies. Offers a novel shift in focus from such standard horror fare, yet it doesn't solely rely on such tricks, instead giving us Tucker and Dale, two incredibly likeable characters that keep your attention and sympathy at all times. And it certainly succeeds on both the comedy and the gore fronts.

Hilarious! Great comedy. It's like Scary Movie, but actually funny.. Too bad the movie changed from comedy into a thriller half way through, they should have kept up the comedy! This movie deserved a better last 20 minutes.

Excellent writing. A very clever and funny comedy horror movie. I really enjoyed all the crazy POV and coincidences that added up to mass mayhem. Excellent cast and hilarious performances. It is really nice to find something so fresh and interesting. It was fun and I enjoyed it. There are a few notable gaffes such as Tucker running with a chainsaw, the dork getting the super hot girl, but most of it was spot-on brilliant. Despite the gore and blood, I can highly recommend this offbeat comedy.

The chemistry of Tudyk and Labine makes for a number of laugh-out-loud moments, as well as a few that are genuinely heartfelt. It's a buddy movie wrapped inside a loving satire of slasher flicks. There's so many ridiculous moments and tragically comic misunderstandings that you can't help but roll your eyes and chuckle. 'These college kids just started killing themselves all over our property!' I'm not a fan of horror movies, but the humor made up for my disinterest in the gore and violence.

Wonderfully subversive comedy with two great lead performances from a pair of actors who should get way more work than they do. It doesn't hit as hard as its horror-comedy brother Shaun of the Dead, but make no mistake: this is an inspired flick well-worth the time. Very funny gags and insane gore, but what holds it all together is the characters. I genuinely cared about these hillbillies, and the "villains" are the perfect type of college movie idiots that you're just aching to see get killed.

Very enjoyable homage to old hillbilly- and slasher-horror films. Tucker and (especially) Dale are lovable characters and that's one the movies strengths. Also: If you think you'll like the movie but don't have the time to sit through the full 90 minutes, just watch the trailer, which is basically 2 minutes of spoiler-bonanza giving away the entire plot.

This is brilliant. Finally a parody that really works and is made by true film makers... and boy, does it work! I was a fan of both Tudyk and Labine beforehand, so seeing them together doing a great job in this extremely well crafted comedy, was just icing on the cake. It spoofs the horror genre almost perfectly. You got to love it.

A funny premise, well executed. Horror comedy has to be scary and funny, and it does the job. Populated with believable characters, the eponymous heroes in particular are a joy to spend time with. Oh, and I'd watch Alan Tudyk read the phone book. Also has the decency to get in, do it's thing and end before it starts to drag.

It's a fantastic premise, and thanks to how lovable Tucker and Dale are, it succeeds at being incredibly fun and hilarious while turning every convention on its head in a bizarrely plausible and gory series of events. The last half hour or so ends up falling into a different set of cliches (love interest action territory), but it's so enjoyable that it's hard to begrudge it the third act.

A swing at poking fun at modern horror tropes that ends up hitting the ball totally out of the park. I think that the only thing that kept this from being a 90 is that I felt it lost some steam when the main college kid kind of took over and it became less about the ridiculousness of the situation... so the last 15 or 20 minutes wasn't up to par with the rest. But this movie was really funny, great chemistry between Tucker and Dale; there were genuine moments between them. Great subversive send-up of the genre, clever, awesome premise.

Tucker & Dale vs. Evil is a very enjoyable horror-comedy which successfully flips around many of the "cabin in the woods" clichés, making them feel fresh and interesting instead of dull and uninvolving. It's creative, and actually gets you thinking about how you would "accidentally" kill these college kids. It falters in many of the lesser actors, many of whom I wished would die just so I could be rid of their lack of talent. It's good fun, though, and I can easily give it a recommendation.

It's a lot better than all the plot summaries in the world make it sound. But I was also told often that the less you know about the movie, the more fun it'll be to watch, so it's kind of a catch 22. Watching the trailer is a bad idea, I hear, because it shows all the good death scenes. The movie is basically comedy with gore, rather than an actual horror movie. If all the blood was taken out of the death scenes, it would basically just be a weird kind of dark comedy.

It feels like authors had idea for 40-50 minute film and then were forced to stretch it to 90 minutes because nobody wants to distribute short films. First they make fun of all post-TCM cliches and then they fall into them. Inventive little flick where there is no room for prejudice and nothing is as it seems. The main issue consists of trying too hard and being over the top to score laughs. If the tone was a little more laidback and perhaps the script a little better then this could have been a really interesting film, such as Hot Fuzz.

I have to say, this movie seems very over-hyped to me. I feel like coming off of Zombieland's success, there does need to be more horror spoofs, but this is bad. C-list acting at best, awkward scenes, and overall rough around the edges. Granted these are horror staples and should be expected but it just didn't feel right. This movie's savior is that it's comedy and mocking of cliches can be enjoyable. Not to be remembered. At least by me.
