Pleasant enough romance traverses similar sociological territory to 1980s Woody Allen; Herzi does a creditable triple-hyphenate job, and her characters are an interesting and appealing gang, it's just a shame that we can't spend more substantive time with them - or at least reach a substantive conclusion. The vignette style ultimately means swinging between lowlights and highlights; arguably never tops the hilarious opening scene of the passive-aggressive implosion of Herzi's relationship.
