Another one of those multi-strand dramedies about love and life, this one has too many characters and fails to say anything meaningful with any of them. When yet another soft rock montage sequence arrives, you know the director has played his last underwhelming trump card. Too many supporting cameo roles, lame jokes (the only decent ones involve toilets, farting or nut-punches), weak writing throughout, and a truly cringe-worthy ending. Approaching the nadir of the romantic comedy genre.

Excellent workout dvd. Thanks to the lame dialogue I can now cringe longer and harder than ever before. Thanks Trust The Man team.

Saw some of this once and thought it was fucking awful. A waste of the several talented actors in it.

When I think about what someone like David Mamet could have done with this cast and this story idea, it makes me sad because this was an enormous waste of talent. Gyllenhaal and Moore do their best, but the material is too weak even for them to save, and the resolution is one of the laziest, stupidest things I've seen in any movie loaded with this kind of acting talent. It's too bad, because it's all wasted on this piece of boring, stupid garbage.

People with money who don't work having relationship problems because they don't talk. Insulting to men & women.

It shows the reality of several couples, with a lot of intelligence and mood.

Decently done. I really like Duchovny and Gyllenhaal. Moore was fine, and Crudup was surprisingly great. (Mendes still sucked.)
