Trouble No More

With the absence of the late Thierry van Werveke (the heart of the previous two films), this third instalment of Bausch's gangster trilogy has tough odds to overcome. The addition to the gang of a psychopathic Frenchman (Hervé Sogne) adds some dynamism, but the lack of focus in the plot is a problem. In the end it's more a film about family, and loved ones ending up on the wrong sides of the moral lines we will cross. A competent small-time crime drama without a lot of style or spectacle.
