I don't know. It starts out on a way smaller boat than I was led to believe and I'm waiting for some sort of Talented Mr. Ripley moment and instead Ghost Ship arrives and it turns into a time loop movie where I'm ever so slowly losing my respect for each and every character and OH MY GOD THERE IS A CORNER OF SALLYS!

An extremely pleasant surprise, a movie that - based on the DVD cover - looked like a trashy horror B-movie, but which actually packs one hell of a metaphysical punch. There's real original thought on offer here, and things never go down the route you might expect them to. More Inception than Friday the 13th. Absolutely worth a shot, even if you think it looks superficially bad.

It starts with a generic 'stranded in the middle of nowhere' slasher setting, then seems to approach 'is it all in her head?' territory, but turned into a surprisingly twisted mix of unexpected weirdness. The conclusion that had to tie everything back to the beginning went on a bit too long though.

This was surprisingly really enjoyable. Sure, it's not the best movie, and it was very reminiscent of Timecrimes, but this was a lot more fun than Timecrimes. There are a lot of things wrong with this movie, but they didn't affect my enjoyment of it.

Good. This is a serious genre blender, a bit of ghost ship horror, some time crimes and a pinch of psycho thrown in for for good measures. And that is what brings it all down. There are just too many half-baked ideas in here and the story is explained just too completely, absolutely no stones unturned, making the film feel much longer than its very standard runtime. But still, its unique enough to warrant a viewing. Recommended.

It seems unfair that this horror thriller should be so unknown, but then again this just proves that well-made & interesting stories may not make a dent in the public consciousness, while familiar formulas are remembered. I don't want to say much about this that might reveal anything, but I will say that it consistently kept surprising me throughout most of the film. At a certain point, you will figure out where it's going, but in a way perfectly suited to the doom-laden Abandon All Hope premise

With time loop plots being all the rage these days, it might be a good time for audiences to revisit Triangle, which didn't seem to make many waves upon release. It's nothing too great but it's a compact little horror flick that breezes right by with good pacing and a sense of intrigue even if it isn't quite as clever as the premise seems to demand.

It's funny, I thought Timecrimes had a one-of-a-kind narrative structure. The marketing for this movie certainly belies its tone; I mean, it's definitely a B-movie in terms of technical production (ugh, that CGI) but I would never guess from that horrible poster (this one: http://imgur.com/sfj7lF0) that this would be anything more than a shitty Ghost Ship-esque slasher, let alone the complex, twisty, compelling, and downright intelligent sci-fi thriller that it is.

Clever film concerned with the depths of maternal guilt and desperation. It is a shame that it has a few cheap-looking effects, and that the American accents clash with the obviousness of the fact it was filmed in Australia, and it is possible these weaknesses hurt the film commercially, but it is nevertheless somewhat superior to most of the similarly-structured films with which it has been compared.

It's nowhere nearly as mixed up as most indicate. How the time loops take part is clued in the first run (remember the little chatter about mythology), it of course is not satisfactory, yet I prefer it upon some half assed explanation. Most of the action is shot ambitiously and as a whole I found the movie quite refreshing. My sole problem is the protagonist's motivation which I don't give a damn about.

Fairly successful attempt to bring deeper thematic meaning to the (quasi-)timeloop genre. I wish it hadn't leaned so heavily into thriller conventions in terms of story beats and dialogue, and gone either more naturalistic or more surreal. It makes it feel like instead of being condemned to being stuck in a time loop, she's been condemned to being stuck in a time loop movie.

Enjoyable time-loop thriller is a little too self satisfied, seeming to go to great pains to hold itself together and "play fair" (at least on a first viewing). Simple plotting means it soon becomes clear where we are headed, though thankfully the screenplay never tries to literalise or explain the phenomena. Well crafted on a technical level, with a genuinely eerie and unsettling first act; if you love time travel paradox convolutions, this is likely to emerge as an endearing guilty pleasure.

Points for not being at all what I expected it to be, & for a really solid lead performance courtesy of Melissa George. To be perfectly honest, though, it sort of fell off in the last third for me & I found the ending to be downright silly compared to everything that came before it. While the clear effort that went into the script is super admirable, a few things just don't add up when you actually try to fit the pieces together, which was unfortunate. Still, neat mindfuck that passes the time.

The horror version of Groundhog Day. SPOILER ALERT! At first I also thought the ending made no sense, but actually it is the key to understanding the movie. The reason she decides to go to the harbor and,Sysyphus-like, starts the loop all over again is because she thinks she deserves to suffer, because she feels guilty about the death of her son. But it does remain unexplained at which moment she embarks on the cab (is there a second loop?)and why would she do that knowing that her son would die

Hunger Games is to Battle Royale, what Triangle is to Timecrimes. Both writers claim they never saw their foreign counterparts. Surrreeee... Despite that, Triangle adds elements of mental illness, self-realization, and spiritual redemption/damnation. Best performance I've seen from Melissa George, and my first Christopher Smith film -- now I want to see them all. Excellent film.

The movie has good intentions, it really does, but it ultimately fails at wowing us the way it's trying. The premise is sound, but everything's painted with too broad of strokes - I was two or three steps ahead the entire time, which I doubt is what the writers wanted. It doesn't help that it's very similar to Timecrimes and other time-distorting puzzlers. Maybe if I hadn't already seen most of the movies that inspired this, and I was 15 years younger, I'd be impressed.

It was a 30 minute short film, artificially stretched to fit over a much longer timeframe. Turns out, the real triangle was the you that kills the past version of you in the future that happen before the movie starts in the past, and then dies in a car wreck while you watch, and then you start the movie over again.

This movie doesn't make since. If it's a loop, how does she just forget about her son dying and everything that happened on the ship. Ends not being as good as you hope it would be, but I have to at least appreciate Christopher Smith's attempt at making a film with a bit more creativity to it. Reality itself as a foe whose explanation is (for the better) unexplained and shows the worst horrors as it repeats itself. Melissa George, immensely beautiful onscreen but also doing a Herculean task of juggling what's needed for the plot and make it compelling. If only Triangle had really been daring and self-reflective.

I love this - especially for the fact that the plot isn't necessarily evident after the first viewing. The film makes sense if you take the time to try and understand.

My only complaint with this movie is that I found the story to be a bit weak. It basically lets you know right away that something isn't quite right, and if you are like me and try to figure it out, you probably will. It's just a bit too easy to figure this one out, especially if you've already seen similar films, such as Timecrimes.
