Tread Softly Stranger

Diana Dors is spectacular as the brazen sexbomb who lures two men to their doom. Her glamour contrasts starkly with the dirt and grime of the industrial setting, an anonymous Northern town in which the steel mill looms large over every single outdoor scene. The dark, smoky streets and the general grimness of the location really help set the mood for the film - it's bleak, it's desperate, it's a great example of British noir.

The two leads are very good indeed. Especially Diana Dors in all her pouty platinum magnificence; she's sort of like the British equivalent of Yvette Vickers. :) And the revelation at the end is a nice doorslam in the face of our not-so-intrepid antiheroes.
