Good Transformers movies can still happen. You just have to give them to hands that actually understand the lore, characters and energy that put this franchise on the map back in the ‘80s. The plot for this movie is generic and quite cheesy, especially the finale, but it’s the best TF movie we’ve had in over a decade (excluding BumbleBee, which I still prefer). The actual Transformers don’t feel totally one-dimensioned and the humans are even likable. Fun, exciting, breezy and recommended.

I allowed this to percolate for a couple of days before giving it a firm rating. Not because it's super-smart and requires deep thought - it's not, and it doesn't - but because I wanted to be fair and free of the adrenaline rush it generates. That much, it definitely accomplishes. Like its cousins, it's remarkably basic A-to-B storytelling that stays afloat (or tries to) via big busy visuals and one-liners. These movies will never be GREAT, but they can entertain. And fuck yeah, Optimus Primal.

Rise of the Beasts has many faults that really hold it back from being a great outing. It has some very illogical screenwriting full of plot conveniences. However, the human elements are surprisingly adequate and play real roles to the Transformers arch. To its credit, the voice acting and comedic relief is quite good, and when you combine that with very good action sequences, it’s entertaining. Even with the lack of Maximals unfortunately. Overall, it’s a small step in the right direction.

An Inner Child Review (1996): Finally they include the Beast Wars characters, only to remove everything cool about them and replace it all with Pete Davidson. No Dinobot, no Rattrap, Rhinox/Cheetor get no lines, what are we even doing here? It's got none of the show's heart, or even its level of storytelling (not a high bar), and fundamentally is missing a robot gorilla fighting a robot T-rex.

Some nice fighting and transformerering... but still stuck in paint-by-numbers storytelling and Big Stakes that we know all along aren't gonna get called.

Arguably the best Transformers movie since Dark of the Moon. Solid story, okay characters and big, stupid action that works. Great soundtrack too.

Plays it too safe for my liking, yet the back-to-basics approach is probably warranted given the chaos of the Bayformers era. It's a step down from BUMBLEBEE, but serious props to Mirage, who is the first new addition to these films I've cared about since...ever. A career high for Pete Davidson, imo.

Although I have an emotional attachment from my childhood to Michael Bay's first 3 Transformers movies, I can safely say that Rise of the Beasts has managed to become the best live-action Transformers film. Archaeological mysteries, dope song choices, transformation moments and the battle in the last half hour were amazing. I was totally delighted with the cool, funny and emotional scenes. I really had too much fun. (Cineverse Metrogarden - 06/14/2023)

This film presents a daring, albeit uneven, entry into the Transformers universe. It's a film that risks much, and while it fails to fully deliver on its promise, it's still a spectacle that will likely entertain fans of the franchise and casual viewers alike.

I loved this. I was a big fan of Beast Wars back in the day, so I loved getting to see those characters brought to life in this movie. I also thought the story was really interesting, the new transformers characters were great, and Anthony Ramos made a good lead. The action, visuals, sound design and music were all top notch and I can never get enough of Peter Cullen's Optimus Prime. Was actually surprised to see the underwhelming reaction to this movie.

It is what it is idk; it’s not high art, no one ever thought it would be, big robots fight and shit goes boom. Better than the two Mark Wahlberg entries. I don’t feel like padding this mini review out any more. There’s one scene where the little brother is playing an original Game Boy and laments that he can’t beat Bowser, when the villains Mario faces in his Game Boy entries are Tatanga and Wario, no older millennials or young gen X on set to catch that?

This wasn't great but it wasn't too bad for what it was. This was a big, dumb Saturday morning cartoonish action movie and it was a decent time waster.

Serinin en iyi Transformers filmi. Doksanlı yıllara geri dönüş yapan film, gizemli 1 evrende ve ütopyada bulunan 1 anahtarın, evrenler arasında açan 1 solucan deliğine dönüşüyor. Kötü dış güçler de evrensel anahtarın peşine düşüyorlar. Anahtar nerde?

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts brought back nostalgia with Beast Wars elements, but it felt a bit crowded with so many factions chasing a mysterious key. While the action and visuals were impressive, it lacked the distinct character chemistry of earlier films. Anthony Ramos showed promise as a new human lead, but the plot left some questions unanswered. It's an okay addition to the franchise, but not a standout.

It does well enough to keep you entertained but Rise does not do anything special to help elevate the franchise. The Maximals were cool but this film really takes a long time to get going and that hurt the momentum in the second half of the film. Ramos and Fishback are likable in terms of human characters overall and Maximals and Autobots were actually given character development and growth. While it is the best Transformers movie we have had the comparison points set the bar very low.

As a huge fan of the 90s computer-animated series "Beast Wars" I was looking forward to their prehistoric arrival to the ultra-modern Transformers series. Unfortunately, the beasts turn out to be minor guest stars in this exceedingly standard entry into the 21st century reboot. Avengers-style world stakes, ominous big bad, snarky protagonist and down-to-earth family drama to drive it all home. One good fight scene on the roads of Peru. Not bad, just nothing transformative at all. PSI: 68

A slight improvement over the Wahlberg ones, Rise of the Beasts makes the Transformers timeline more convoluted than the X-Men. Yeoh elevates the Maximals but they're conceptually too cheesy & their catchphrases don't help. The action is alright but the Avengers-style clash of two heavily CG-ed armies is getting tiresome. The human characters & acting is adequate. The writing (plot, humour & puzzles) is basic, inoffensive & not as annoying as its previously been. Amusing but not enthralling.

If this is what Transformers is going to be now, sign me up. It shaved off at least 25 minutes from what Bay would have done, made the human elements less offensive, had good action, a lot of heart, a cool reveal at the end, a banging hip-hop soundtrack, some humour that worked, good visuals, the Maximals, and a Prime who's occasionally angry, Sure, the story is predictable and there's some hokeyness in the dialogue, but I didn't care. Can't wait for the next one.

Transformers does what Transformers do. Ton of action to entertain and please us that grew up with the franchise, but nothing that'll stay with you too long. All so they can do it all again in a few years.

How do you screw up the villain like this? You have a film and a bunch of tv episodes to do research with and you come up with this?

Its absolute mary sue trash, and not funny cringe but painful cringe. But the main character did resonate with me as hes a army tech and they made him a jack shitcunt working for himself, which is hilarious as thats the biggest stereotype which they obviously didn’t know about. Also the cgi was trash and it wasn’t funny at all. If i was 12 it would be a great film though

"Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts" successfully embraces a new direction, focusing on character development and introducing likable new characters, but lacks the humor of Michael Bay's movies and feels repetitive with retreaded story elements from previous installments.

Incredibly better than Transformers 4 & 5, Rise of the Beasts offers itself to be quite entertaining with above-average action sequences and some genuinely WOW moments, thanks to its choreography and tracking shots. However, the uninteresting human drama and lack of comedy make this a subpar entry compared to the first three films.
