The only terror this movie is able to deliver on is the horrifying tonal dissonance. The movie is set up on a tragic boilerplate premise of a family moving into an old and haunted children's hospital/home. There's some Conjuring and The Others vibes going on. But the setting is foiled by comedic monsters in the vein of Gremlins or The Leprechaun and one-line zingers. In the end it can't deliver on campy fun nor authentic horror ambience.
