The Roger Corman/Vincent Price tag-team gets the job done again. This time the two elevate this low-rent Shakespeare remix into an okay little historical/drama/ghost story B-movie.

Vincent Price gives it his all but this was a dull affair. Under 90 minutes but felt much longer.

Corman bleeds every drop of value out of the budget and Price turns florid dialogue into something very enjoyable. The consequence of this, however, is that it grinds to a halt whenever Price isn't on screen and it sort of collapses under its own weight at the end.

An adaptation of Shakespeare instead of Poe. While this is not a straight adaptations of one the bard's plays, it's clearly based on Richard III and heavenly influenced by Macbeth. Price is given the full opportunity to show of his classical acting training. In its protagonist who haunted by his victim ghosts is driven to madness this lies the similarity with the Poe cycle. Contrary to those its shot in black and white, but this actually suits the material.

Especial Vincent Prince Darkflix TV.

A pretty bad movie. Vincent Price monologues from murder to murder without immediate consequences, nor is there any decent explanation for his visions. Did he get them beforehand? Or are they just his guilty conscience? His entire motivation was explained in a scene to his mom about his physical appearance. Fav scene: Sir Justin trying to escape with the boys.

Vincent Price steals the show, but even putting his performance aside it's a pretty fun film.
