This film is a story of a dog-thieve in a 1930s Paris. Running away from the police he hides in a home of one lady and then falls in love with her. Eventually he is caught and put to jail where he meets a banker who apparently becomes his friend. Upon their release from prison the real fun begins as they cross with each other again and again. Wait! Toto (1933) is without Totò?! Oh, it's a French film, not Italian. Totò would have fitted very well into this. A very Chaplin-styled comedy with scoundrel tramps and even silent era slapstick, even if it is a sound movie. This is actually a remake of a German film I saw a few years ago. This one is probable the better of the two, but they're both lighthearted comedies that doesn't take themselves too seriously.
