Bob Howard, though mostly known for his Conan stories, was probably the best pure horror writer in the Lovecraft Circle. Robert Bloch was like the fourth after Fritz Leiber and Frank Long. Bob Howard succumbed to depression, Fritz Leiber's hedonistic lifestyle precluded the stability of commercial work, and Frank Long found his niche in episodic television. Look, Amicus movies are so painfully solid and hack, that it's easier to write about tangentially related shit.

An anthology movie of which the first story (about an hypnotizing cat) is by far the best and unfortunately the others can live up to that one, especially the second (about the wannabe moviestar) and the third (about the piano) aren't as interesting, and too little is done with the final story (with Jack Palance as Poe collector) to make it as interesting as the first.

DVDrip no MakingOff.

Very spooky and blackly humorous horror anthology written by Robert Bloch in his usual inimitable fashion. A real winner from start to finish

Not without its charms. Amicus rarely fails.

A classy bit of horror fun. The piano bit was probably the low point but the rest is good stuff.

This was a fun little anthology. None of the segments stood out but then again none of them were bad either.
