Topaze

I've seen the 1933 American version, but not the original French one with Louis Jouvet. But at least I got my hands on this third French version starring Fernandel, and he's great in it. Typically French it relies too much on talking, so it does talk a hole in your head instead of focusing on the laughs. That's where I found the American version with John Barrymore better. But it's still a really lively adaptation of the play, which offers more energy than Barrymore's one.
