Set in a future-world vision of Tokyo where the police have been privatized and bitter self-mutilation is so casual that advertising is often specially geared to the "cutter" demographic, this is the story of samurai-sword-wielding Ruka and her mission to avenge her father's assassination. Ruka is a cop from a squad who's mission is to destroy homicidal mutant humans known as "engineers" possessing the ability to transform any injury to a weapon in and of itself. (imdb)

Similar to the much better Machine Girl but with out the fun frenzied comedy. This is mostly played straight with bits of humor along the lines of Robocop or Starship Troopers. The story is kind of interesting but takes last place to the gore, and shaky cam action set pieces. Even with all the crazy shit happening I found myself getting bored about half way through. This sub genre of films much like the found footage films get old quickly but continue to be made.

The police chief must have really high blood pressure (I ranked this movie just to make that joke).

Kind of like that Hardboiled comic Frank "Robocop 2" Miller did back in the dizay, only not as overrated. High on gore, a whole lot of gore, a desensitizing amount of gore, it's even in the freaking title. Special effects and plot are about on par with an episode of the Power Rangers (not sure if I intend that as an insult), and the bad acting transcends language. Worth it for people that want a spiffier live action Riki-Oh (drug addicts, nerds, drug addicted nerds)

I've been entranced by the likes of The Machine Girl, Chanbara Beauty and Attack Girls' Swim Team Versus the UnDead and this film is of the same breed. If you want Japanese girls killing using some unique ways to slice, dice, and dismember, look no further than the aforementioned.

First of all I admit I'm not a huge fan of japanese cinema, but this was even worse than expected. Plenty of (very cheap) gore and somewhat interesting plot, but the execution is horrible, the script seems to consist of random scenes that make no sense whatsoever. Dead Alive did pretty much the same thing, but better in every conceivable way.

I dig it for the outlandish ways it displays gore and it has a fair number of cheesy scenes that gave me a chuckle. But the film also has really boring fight scenes that are awkwardly shot with a script that's more asinine than amusing. It might have been helped if the cast were a lot more entertaining, but beyond the crazy aesthetic everyone is a boring caricacture with the charisma of dry paint. Props to the guy with the giant flesh penis though, that was rad.

Crazy gory over the top fun in the vein of Evil Dead II, Kung Fury and Dead Alive (braindead). The acting and script are rubbish, but frankly who cares? If snail-women prostitutes, men with guns as eyes that fire sharpened eyeballs, and literally gallons of high power blood appeal to you - all with tongue firmly in cheek - then watch it now.

Much better than The Machine Girl, a mind blowing film with endless gore and a somewhat interesting story. Tasteless, gross, and hell of a lot of fun to watch, well worth the time spent.

Confusing mess of a film, influences all over the place and thankfully a micro budget so the huge amounts of gore don't look very realistic. Gore fans, have fun. Bizarre Japanese movie fans, have fun. I didn't really.

This weird flick doesn't know what it wants to be. There's a decent premise for a dark scifi action flick which they play very seriously, but then there's all this ludicrous over the top gore. It's like Machine Girl mixed with Blade Runner. This flick wasn't campy enough for the gore to be fun, but the over-the-topness seemed out of place in a movie with such a serious tone.

So completely insane and incomprehensible, and with sfx that are so enthusiastically gruesome they harken to the glory days of Cunningham and Savini, it's an infectiously fun ride.

WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH JAPANESE PEOPLE WHAT... OK, I suppose on some level they're trying to make some sort of updated Videodrome. But... where Machine Girl was just as gory in terms of body parts and high-pressure blood, TGK has a calm, clinical let's-gross-the-viewer-out attitude that just rubs me the wrong way. Still, you have to admire the inventiveness.

Almost impossible to rate properly. It's like an acid trip interspersed with fountains of blood and limbless fetish-gear wearing freaks. So over the top it breaks through into another dimension.

Tokyo Gore Police is a truly sick brutal movie like most Japanese cyberpunk films. The story is also not very original and is mostly extremely thin. Nevertheless, it's still an entertaining satire which can't be taken seriously. Like all "Japanese Cyberpunk movies", if you have got problems with violence, you won't like this movie. Most of the horror scenes aren't as scary as the horror scenes of the movies Yu On and The Ring, although these movies are less brutal.

Starts off quite promising, with liters of blood gushing everywhere. A shame it doesn't stay that way. The movie has very little dialogue, very vague plot and doesn't have the black humor you wish it had.

This movie is just over the top..its fun and bloody and they give you everything you could want. The acting is a little above average and the film does drag. But, it has some scenes in this movie that are so beyond ludacris you have to laugh and have a blast
