No way dog fanatics like us weren't going to score this highly | Yet, I'm confident that it does deserve solid 4 stars (of 5) for even dog agnostics: laughs, peril & lump in throat emotion | Dafoe great casting as craggy, indomitable semi-outsider from the community. Has a face you'd expect to appear out of impassable storm in the northern wilds, looking like some sort of fantasy goblin-elf, bearing salvation | Had us in floods of tears for 5 mins after, thinking of our passed dogs

The movie was well made. Shot well, good acting, beautiful locations and cinematography, good music, etc. The movie also does a good job establishing an emotional connection with the dog. That being said, despite a few interesting moments, the story is mostly predictable (as many dog movies are). One minor gripe: There was this annoying weird filter on during the entire movie that made a lot of the backdrops look fake and dirty. Probably to make it look old-timey, but I didn't like that.

This is a nice story with some pretty great cinematography, a good cast and of course adorable dogs. I would recommend it, yes, especially for the beautiful northern lights type sunsets shown in landscape shots. Its a pleasant and enjoyable watch and its based on a true story, which always appeals to me.

It is over-dramatized, hits familiar beats, and goes above and beyond in its attempts to tug at heart strings. But I won't deny it, those attempts got me on a few occasions. Dafoe is great and the pacing is superb for such a story. It might be too sad overall, but is easily on the Mt. Rushmore of dog lover movies.

This is a charming film that depicts how dog breeder Leonhard Seppala (Willem Dafoe) discovered that a terribly unruly, runt of a puppy (that he tried to get rid of twice) was really the best lead dog he had ever seen. When the epidemic hits, Seppala and Togo are thought to be the only ones who can make the run, and the depiction of what they endured is pretty harrowing and exciting. Ultimately, it's a homage to the bond between humans and animals.

Leonhard Seppala is trainer of the dog Togo in 1925. When a diphtheria epidemic threatens to break out in Nome, Alaska, he sets out with Togo to bring a serum to the area. A striking choice as Togo is considered too small and too weak. During their journey, Seppala and his party must brave the harsh weather conditions.

A plain story about a man and his dog. Easily consumable, but why bother?

While Balto got all the credit, Togo did the most work, but the truth is that this movie was made before, it was called "Balto" and while Seppala might be rolling in his grave, this doesn't seem like a new story, just the same one with the dog swapped for another. In essence, it's a tolerable watch, but not much more.

A heartfelt story about a historic dogsled team. Pulls on the heartstrings but overall, poorly constructed. Still worth the watch on a cozy night in - it's a family friendly film.

CGI can be inconsistent and obvious time to time. And also there are lazy writing for some sections. But its a good and (and overly exxeggerated) truth revealing true story movie. Its heart-warming. And it shows us the true hero of the serum sledge run incident. Which was new to me.

very simple story line. unorthodox cinematography. heart-warming atmosphere. I usually don't like these kind of movies but Togo just pulled me into the movie.

Surprisingly fun dog movie. Willem Defoe channels his character from The Lighthouse in some scenes and it's fantastic.
