There are some thrilling elements to this pseudo-European post-WWII noir, but To the Victor (1948) had some serious flaws stopping it from being the rewarding acquaintance it probable deserved to be. The main critique of the film was it being artificial. I guess the main problem was that the film struggled to channel what it wanted to communicate in the European ruins, resulting in a lot of the confusion just not generation excitement.
