The tone is a bit self-congratulatory, lauding the humanitarian works of government agencies, but it's an entertaining enough yarn, following an opium trail, that percolates along agreeably with hardly a slow patch. At first you'll think you happened on a '50's educational film about your noble government, and the end is a tad operatic. But a pleasant way to pass a couple of hours.

I actually liked the almost mundane educational approach to international drugs smuggling for this Dick Powell thriller. Gave it a sense of authenticity .And it certainly was a good one for Asian-American actress Maylia. Some might feel there were long stretches where not enough happened, but I felt the ambiance of it.
