Ticket to Paradise

Two of Hollywood's biggest stars return to our screens, and the resulting product has all the passion and electricity of a working vacation. Clooney and Roberts poke their heads above the blandness for a few amusing barbs.

It's an ok "Sitting on the Sofa on a Cold Saturday Afternoon and Can't Find Anything Else to Watch" film.

There is probably a huge audience for this star-driven vehicle, but it's not me. My biggest problem with it is that it's clearly a mainstream rom-com from the outset & so when these 2 big stars spend all their time insulting each other, none of it feels real. About mid-way through the film Roberts tells Clooney that he wasn't a "mistake" and it doesn't feel cathartic at all because their dislike for each other never felt true. Still it looks beautiful and I LOL once.

Pretty uninspired but dragged along by elder movie star charm.

Netflix productions are becoming like a bigger budget Hallmark channel. A place for big name celebs to get a paycheque and go and make empty-calorie films which are passable & forgettable. It doesn't matter if it's an action film or a thriller or a dramcom, they've just all started to mush into a formula.

If you and your mom can't agree on a movie, this is a decent compromise. She'll love it and bawl, you'll...survive.

"Ticket to Paradise" may not be a groundbreaking film, but it is an enjoyable romantic comedy that provides some laughs and a beautiful backdrop of Bali. The film's strengths lie in the performances of Clooney and Roberts, while its weaknesses are in the underdeveloped subplots and one-dimensional characters. Overall, it's a fun escape from reality that will leave you feeling good.

Fairly typical romantic comedy, kind of a meet the parents in reverse, but Clooney and Roberts give great performances, and I'm also a fan of Kaitlyn Dever in everything I've seen her in.

What you'd expect from reading one sentence about the plot and actors involved. But it was what I knowingly signed up to watch.

Not good not bad

Light, charming and fun. Nothing incredible, and I only saw it because my dad only sees Clooney movies these days, but I enjoyed myself for sure.

Though somewhat predictable, a fun and light romantic comedy, featuring the chemistry of George Clooney and Julia Roberts.

A middling RomCom that plods along predictably as it portrays Queensland, Australia as Bali, Indonesia. Shallow but inoffensive.

The gnawing arbitrariness of Ticket to Paradise cuts to the heart of why the Hollywood rom-com has been so deficient for so long, often turning to outrageously silly premises just to throw some obstacles in the way. The film improves in the second half when Georgia and David’s objections to the marriage—and to each other—start to ease off, and Roberts and Clooney can shift more into the flirty banter and old-school glamor of the Ocean’s movies.

Very predictable-but still a few easy going laughs, likeable characters and beautiful setting.
