Thunder Over Texas

It's the worst acted and written western I've seen, but Ulmer livens it up a little with touches like moving the camera behind some trees for foreground elements or framing some nice over-the-shoulder shots. Small things, but rare by the standards of the production.

Funny to think that Edgar G. Ulmer, the guy behind the camera for such a visually great film as The Black Cat (1934), directed this terrible looking poverty western the same year! Standard rough production that's usually associated with cheap 1930s westerns, but at least Guinn 'Big Boy' Williams makes it lively enough getting a little girl to play with.
