This is like one of those fake bad movies they show in good movies about making bad movies.

What a super load of boring bullshit. Melissa please marry someone good at making funny movies.

The epitome of a Netflix movie. Something you'd have paid $11 to see in 2013, found mildly amusing and never thought about again. McCarthy and Spencer are clearly having fun and have good rapport. McCarthy and Jason Bateman have fantastic chemistry and their meet-cutes deserve a better movie. Otherwise mildly amusing and extremely forgettable but not the worst way to spend a boring Monday night on the couch when your baseball team gets a game postponed.

Melissa McCarthy pulls the same shtick here that she does in all her movies. Jason Bateman was the best part of this, and even that only managed to get a few chuckles out of me.

The premise of only sociopaths getting superpowers is neat, and Melissa is trying her hardest. I won't act like none of the jokes worked because some did, but the movie is so underbaked. The little action present is mostly crap, a lot of the jokes don't work, and the story doesn't go anywhere fresh or at least interesting. Just a bland flick those chooses the most bog standard superpowers (except the crab).

Well, sure, it was bad, but what did you expect? It's probably pretty close to the best version it could've been, and the fun had while making it shows.

The base idea could have been used for something dumb but fun. Many side characters were amusing, the crab guy namely, it was the best part. But McCarthy's character ruins everything. Spencer seems a bit bored with life, that is forgivable, though McCarthy is just aggressively unfunny.

I tried. I wanted to like it. And I do usually like Melissa McCarthy silly comedies, but this superhero parody became a parody of itself.

It's a pretty run-of-the mill Netflix comedy. Good for a few laughs and then will never be thought about again.

Great cast, horrendous writing. Quite honesrly, it's painful to watch.

This is downright terrible. I felt ashamed for the actors and director in some scenes. This cast is actually quite good, but I fail to uderstand why they would want to be part of this film. If you get to read the script and you see a crabman, two people eating raw chicken... For the love of God, do yourself a favor and keep some dignity as an actor.

A terrible Made for Netflix movie with a couple of redeeming qualities. 1) Jason Bateman's thoroughly Jason Bateman performance as a scummy henchmen with claws for hands and a heart of gold. 2) Melissa McCarthy doing the best she can to inject some levity and humor to the proceedings. She's all over the place and it would be annoying if it wasn't the only thing driving the movie forward. Everything else in this superhero origin story was one-note and terrible.

I love Melissa McCarthy and I watched all of her dumb movies and in my opinion she makes them watchable somehow. She is really talented but she needs to stop working with her hubby. Ben Falcone is an extremely untalented writer & director and he seems like he is determined to ruin his wife's career.

Not all of the jokes work in the movie but there are a number of laughs. The two leads play off of each other nicely. Overall I would recommend this movie.

Ehh, for this type of movie, which is just meant to be silly fun entertainment, it's fine. I didn't realize Jason Bateman was going to be in it, so that was a nice surprise. However, the costuming for him was just creepy.

21 is a generous score. (20 would be more appropriate but there are some funny bits here and there)

Any time you see people saying this film could be TERRIBLE...they're lying. Thunder Force is adequate. It's exactly what you expect it will be. If you can watch Godzilla vs Kong to watch the gimmick of two monsters fighting, you can watch this film to watch the gimmick of Melissa McCarthy and Octavia Spencer as superheroes.

What a shitty and pathetic film.

Taking into account what it was (a silly, fun, lighthearted comedy), it was quite enjoyable. Similar to Shazam! in many ways. It has similar pitfalls though. It is childish enough to want to be a pre-teen comedy, but in some ways too adult (language, violence, sexuality) to quite meet that audience target. Still, it was a fun watch. Wouldn't pay theater prices to see it though.
