MGM brings out their senior guard of Lionel Barrymore, Lewis Stone & Edward Arnold as their Three Wise Fools (1946). Fun sentimental piece which had all the earmarks of a classic feel-good movie. However, by this point MGM had started losing their touch, and the studio who once created screen magic was struggling to do so with many of their releases, including this one, which even lost at the box office. There enjoyment to be had, but none of that magic. The production was too stilted for that.
