The first sound version of the tale with Chester Morris, Lewis Stone & Walter Brennan as the trio. Director Richard Boleslawski had the patience to let us get close to the characters and thats made it a strong movie. Brennan is a natural hick so he was right at home and gave this it's authenticity. Stone was the learned of the three being the voice of reasoning. Morris was the real bad boy that didn't want the baby. He looked the part of a ruthless cowboy and put on a memorable performance!
