This World, Then the Fireworks

f you like your neo-noir slathered on thick and a nice dose of sleaze, then this OTHER 1997 Billy Zane movie would be right up your alley. The first beats of the film are incredibly enticing and full of promise, but there is a bit of a letdown as the film shows its cards too early. It just can't sustain the level it sets off with and, by the end, much of the visual flare becomes to feel self indulgent. Still, a forgotten gem of the 1990s.
