This Is Not a Test

With title sequence by Saul Bass. lol Although goofy in a lot of ways, this one does have an undeniable (if peculiar) charm. The North Beach hep cat is especially a hoot. Then of course there's Deputy Dawg sending everybody's fun quotient sky-high (not to mention sending a Yappy Rat Dog off to meet its maker). Anyway, there aren't too many places where you can better witness the sort of claustrophobic naked panic which the threat of The Bomb engendered at the time.

I love post-apocalypse films like a 10-year-addicted junkie loves crack. Even if I have low expectations, I still dive in. This has an OK premise but does nothing with it. Even comparing it to other proto-nuclear war films, this one drags.
