Reeks of Tarantino but without much success. Garcia is a dud like usual so most of the points come from Walken's villain and Critical Bill.

rewatch. Girls who glide need men who can make them thump. And...and girls who slide need men who can make them slump. And if you're a girl with pride? Then you need a man who can make you plump.

This rather noir crime flick is at the least worthy of a viewing. A diverse and talented cast is the definite strong point along with some witty dialog. The story is quite far-fetched and a bit tedious at times.

The title makes it almost sound like an indie, so I allowed myself to get my hopes up. A mistake--just another mob movie, a little sappier than most. The double killing scene was kind of fun, though.

Doesn't really pay off on a decent start, and doesn't make the greatest use of a pretty decent ensemble cast.

Very underrated film in the genre. Rarely gets mentioned but is definitely a must see for anyone who likes crime films.

Crime boss in Denver? Really? The story is a bit haunting but boils down to an overly confident former wise guy who picks his old crew and puts a pshycho and a nervous over-the-hill trigger man at point while trying to put a scare on a guy. They all get marked for death when the mark and his girl gets killed. Here is where the story really gets stupid. Jimmy gets 48 hours, and then the all seeing hit man is able to find the others. The particularly stupid ending could have been so much better.

Perfectly servicable crime drama. If you like character actors, you're going to LOVE this movie.

Didn't buy it at all. Smiley, bright eyed, and always the gentleman Garcia is totally not convincing. And how many people have you heard tell you that Denver is a scary place full of organized crime hits? Ohhh, the skiers are going to get angry. An eclectic cast of characters, but mediocre.

This movie has some of the worst 'romantic' dialogues I've ever heard.

Grabs you by the balls and doesn't let go. Garcia does quite well as the protagonist though the role was tailored made for DeNiro. A suave mobster flick that still manages to be deeply poignant half the time.

This could have been much better. I like the premise--guy forced into a hit that goes bad and then he and his team are given 2 days to live. It could have (and barely tried) to examine how each (the fatalist, the runner, the crazy survivalist, the family man, the lover) dealt with the time they had left. But it kept falling back on emotion instead of inspection of life. Coulda been a classic but is now lost to the mediocrity of time.

Sometimes too cool for it's own good, but film is still entertaining and sports a colorful cast

Walken plays Walken particularly well while Treat Williams swigs his urine.

There are so many memorable characters in this film, from Mr. Shh to Critical Bill. On any given night, I can watch this and still be entertained. I would watch this movie if they just edited it down to the scenes with Christopher Walken. In short, watch it...love it.

It gets off to a slow start, but finally wakes up when Mr. Shh (Buscemi) gets to work. Treat Williams is great as Critical Bill, and it's just a fun, fun movie.

A low-brow gangster movie with an undeservedly great cast. I suppose it's alright to enjoy the acting while suppressing the inevitable repulsion by how "cool" this thinks it is.
