"They Were Not Divided" portrays the tale of the Guards Armoured Division during WWII, brought to life by a director who once served as a Guards officer. The film prioritizes the bond between its two central characters over high-octane action sequences. While it provides an adequate viewing experience, it stops short of being notably impactful.

War movies wasn't very popular right after the war, but in 1950 we see a few, and a trend I'm noticing, is that a lot of them are more mellow none-battle oriented. More philosophical portraits of situations that was normal during those hard years. I guess they wanted to carefully thread on the subject after all the war fatigue, both real life and on screen. Feels like it's made more for the folks that lived through the war than for an audience years down the line.
