There Is Another Sun

There is a lot of macho stuff going on and a remarkably beautiful Susan Shaw ever present, but the drama wasn't something I got caught up in. There was a sense of blandness, even if the surrounding wasn't.

Low-key crime drama is more interesting for its subtext in the relationship between Harvey and Reed (even doing some bed sharing by proxy with Shaw) than it is with its pretty middling crime story; aided by some creative staging by Gilbert and an excellent supporting cast, which do their best to compensate for a lack of charisma in the 3 leading performances. Has too much going on for a fairly slight film, but does manage to evoke the seedy, sweaty corruption of a rinky dink carnival.
