Slow road-movie but very good. I don't know why this movie is a drama, it's in fact an adventure ?

Anthony Hopkins plays the roll with a certain passion , but not the one you see in Hannibal. He plays his role of a old determined man perfect. It's an charming film that passes on a easy pase but i liked it !

Predictably formulaic, and sometimes annoyingly saccharine. The movie has two major strengths that propel it into watchable territory: a great lead performance from Anthony Hopkins, and some of the most exciting racing footage put to film. Other than that it's a lot of Bumbling Old Fool Makes Good, with sides of People Coming Together to Help Each Other, and Foreigner Struggles With American Culture. Blah. Hopkins is just that good though, and the races are even better.

I found it to be a nice, charming family film. Hopkins is great throughout the film but really it's the script of those around him that bring it down a bit. It starts off great but once he arrives in Utah it feels more like a Disney Sports flick than anything else, full lines like "there are rules" and "can't we bend the rules this one time?" Until that point it's very entertaining and fun though. Honestly it's never ruined, just the last third kind of fails to keep up with the rest.

Not bad little movie about stubborn old fart. Definitely not a movie about racing, be warned!

Just because something or someone is old doesn't mean that it is useless. Anthony Hopkins as a kind hearted old man struggling to achieve his dreams with his Indian motorcycle.

I really enjoyed this movie and Anthony Hopkins' acting and character was the main reason.

A very, very generic and by-the-numbers story is elevated by some great performances, especially Anthony Hopkins. It also plays up the road trip elements which help make it more than just another old-man-with-a-last-chance story.

It has some good moments, but not many; it's a very feel nice movie and lacks character, but it's watchable.

I don't think it was bad. I didn't groan at all, and it was a fun watch the whole way through, even if it was light and fluffy.

Just watched this in December 2011, and I think it might be my favourite ever roadtrip flick. Hopkins is really excellent, the characters whose paths he crosses are neat (nothing better than the kindness of strangers!), and I quickly wound up rooting for the guy to succeed. Enjoyed it a ton.

The story is a bit of a mash-up of a number separate events, as the real Munro set a record 6 years after his first run at Bonneville. Still, the heart of the story is there. It's a pleasant watch, but it does occasionally have what I would describe as a 'fairy-tale' feel to it that puts a damper on the idea that this is supposed to be a movie based on real events. Anthony Hopkins is of course great here too. One note: it's not really a movie about bikes and racing, but it has exciting bits.

An inspiring story of a man who wills himself through adversity to achieve a lifelong dream of setting the world land speed record. Burt Munro, played to perfection by Anthony Hopkins, accomplishes this task despite his deteriorating health conditions, the cultural shock of traveling to a foreign nation, and struggling to have his racer admitted into the competition because his vehicle is considered substandard and dangerous. A fantastic film. See it.

The World's Fastest Indian is an impressive film. It's touching in a sweet way, and tells a story that supposedly actually happened. Exaggerated or not, the story of Burt Munro is one that I now care about. The film also manages to make you feel better about your own life, as seeing the perseverance of Burt makes you feel like you can take on the world. Hopkins is great in the lead role, and the story is engaging enough to keep interest.

Feel good inspirational story without an interesting character or well developed motivation. It's well made and Hopkins gives a good performance, but everything is so bland and paint by numbers that it's tough to really care about it.

Hopkins is great, but the plot devices are atrocious; I'll bet the real Munro was much more hardcore than Hopkins' portrayal. And as much as my little heart wished it were, this movie is NOT about bikes, although the three races ARE very exciting.

Though it's perhaps a little slow paced, The World's Fastest Indian is an extremely charming film. It constantly makes you afraid that something terrible is about to happen, but then it turns around and smacks you with the kindness of people. Anthony Hopkins is terrific as Burt, an old man with unrelenting perseverance, especially because he pulls off the senile geezer so well, as opposed to his usually very sharp characters. Really good!

Anthony Hopkins is absolutely charming in this magical true story of determination and undying youth. You can't help but love to see real life continue to prove that if you play your cards right, dreams can come true.

With a warm heart and cheery smile approach, it's easy for us as viewers to just give in to the moment, ignoring the shop-worn clichés, allowing Munro to take us along on his quixotic journey into the middle of nowhere, redemptively making something out of himself after a lifetime of seemingly having nothing to show for it.

Anthony Hopkins is much better than this film deserves. This has to be one of the most poorly written films I saw last year. I mean we're really supposed to believe that he just goes from place to place and everywhere he goes there's someone there to help him so he can get involved in their lives for no reason. Horrible, horrible, horrible.

Kind of like Crocodile Dundee meets The Straight Story. The film is at its worst when Munro first arrives in America, which is loaded with all the tired "stranger in a strange land" scenes we've seen in other crap movies a thousand times: foreigner gets ripped off, drives on the wrong side of the road, gets mystified by magic fingers bed, encounters a cross-dresser, marvels at American extravagance (menus with pictures!). Predictable and formulaic, but Hopkins makes it watchable.
