The World Moves On

A neglected John Ford gem.

Certainly one of Ford's weaker efforts, but its war scenes do well to make the action immediate and bring a gloomy and fearful atmosphere to that section of the film.

A real snooze fest from John Ford. Slow tempo and almost nothing remarkable. Ford is better at portraying simple folks with their peculiarities at this tempo then showcasing the rich multi-national Girard family through 100 years of love, power, wars and stock market crashes. But this does have the novelty of seeing, of all people, Stepin Fetchit in combat!!!
