There is a casual value to The Wooden Horse (1950). With that said, it wasn't the type of war movie that did much for me personally. Was almost too mellow for that.

Solid, if somewhat unspectacular, POW-escape drama. Does a good job of portraying the ingenuity and the resilience of the people involved (it's a true story), but there are certain moments where it all feels a bit too reserved and lacking in tension.
