The Wishing Ring: An Idyll of Old England

A nice little 100 year old love story in the Mary Pickford genre. Except Vivian Martin replaces Mary in the Mary part. She's still got the same sweetness and curly hair. Well crafted direction from Maurice Tourneur, especially considering it's 1914. While not up to the level he's make with the real Mary Pickford 3 years later with the classic The Poor Little Rich Girl (1917), it's still a enjoyable enough affair where old Alec B. Francis helps set the tone within all the youth in this picture.
