Vice lord Dominic has brought Swifty Dorgan east to do a job for him. When Swifty appears to have died falling from a train, detective Henderson impersonates him hoping to get into the mob. The man with the swastika suitcase! No, this is not a pre-war Nazi drama, but a early Edward G. Robinson gangster film! His first for his longterm home - Warner Brothers! While the movie has it's faults I found it an amusing gangster flick. Alice White always has that spunk. Robinson looks like the cool nasty. And Neil Hamilton gets a good part playing on both sides. Pacing is good for a 1930 movie even if it's not the cinematic experience it would have been had it been made a few years later.
