One of those horrific "romantic comedies" where the situations are unbelievable, the "romance" is trite, and the near breakup can be solved immediatly by one party simply opening thier mouth and explaining as soon as it occurs.

I don't think I am the target audience for this film, but still saw it against my will. The one saving grace was that I saw it on tv so there were commercials so my anger could subside for a few minutes.

Generic love story plot as man loves woman and overcomes obstacles in order to be with her at the end. Nothing entertaining or special about this film. I hate the stereotypical genre and this movie has nothing else to offer.

All the typical rom-com ingredients (wittily flirtatious dialogue, quirky supporting characters, grand romantic climaxes) are thrown in but they are severely under-cooked. There's a hint of flavour during an unexpected turn to a refreshingly less-than-perfect conclusion, but then with the most horrendously convenient of plot points (two weddings are called off with literally no harm done) the expected ending arrives, and to zero fanfare because the couple never had any chemistry to begin with.

The only reason this gets a 10 is that I need to leave room for Shankman's unforgettable classics such as Rock of Ages, The Pacifier, and Cheaper By the Dozen 2...

Nice to see a little bit of talent on the screen. The fine figured well dressed Jennifer & dreamy Matthew are plenty cute & manage to bring a decent feeling of romance to the work, even if they aren't steaming hot. More amazing is they can pull off an absurd penis statue scene that would have flopped horribly in the hands of lesser talent. Serviceable.

The woeful script of this offensively insipid romantic comedy is replete with the lamest of clichés and unintentionally odious characters, with Lopez and McConaughey exhibiting not an ounce of charisma, chemistry or charm between them at any point.

Didn't hate it nearly as much as I expected--or indeed as much as my PSI suggested I would, and I can't imagine why. God knows, it's a tired formula, and they cast is hardly, um, distinguished. But the writing didn't totally suck, and somehow it has a charm that is utterly lacking in other flicks of this ilk.

This isn't one of my most favorite-favoritest movies of all time, but I do enjoy it. It's a cute story and there's actually many sub-plots to follow, which helps it out. Acted pretty well, actually, and suprisingly sweet.

I'm not a huge fan of either Jennifer Lopez or Matthew McConaughey's respected "talents", and this is proof positive why. There's zero chemistry between the two, which is sorta a requirement for a good rom-com. And it also helps to have a decent script, which this one does not.

One of the best Jennifer Lopez movies around. It's everything you want in a romantic comedy, and nothing else. Leads are engaging, there's a bit of a pickle, lots of laughs, misunderstandings and definitely a strong undercurrent of romance. Highly Recommended

One of my favorite romcoms ever. Jennifer Lopez is a remarkably talented woman, who I feel has never really been given her dues as an actress (have you *seen* "Enough"?). Here, we get the silly side of both Ms. Lopez, and the always handsome Matt McConaughey. Mr. McConaughey, however, is not just a great body with lines- he's actually a large part of what makes this movie funny.I don't think too much should be read into the story- it's not a sophisticated movie with a moral. Just laughs.

Just another romantic comedy, which is something Matthew doesn't usually allow these movies to become but for some reason the chemistry just isn't there in this one. Go with How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days instead.
