Costner, at a time when he was just past his peak, should have been in this movie much more than he was. I realize this was about the kid, and some kind of button war, but I just didn't care when it came down to it.

Kevin Costner's amazing acting manages to make a character sound wise while using a double negative. The movie ties you strongly to its characters and you almost forget to notice the great photography as you're carried away by a great plot.
