The Viking Queen

Lots of cash was spent on an impressively large number of extras in unimpressive battle scenes. Script-wise there's too many characters w/ minimal characterization meant to guide us through too much political scheming. It's all centered around a flat romance between a viking queen "Juliet" who spends most of the film being useless, played by an actress whose charisma is inverse to her beauty & she's beautiful. Her "Romeo" is a Roman gladiator we're supposed to like even though he's an invader.

Incompetent on a lot of different levels, with small flashes of something much crazier and more interesting underneath. High camp value, but for all the wrong reasons it feels like a forerunner to Monty Python & The Holy Grail.
